If you watch the flocast video of his video after the american record an official comes up and asks him during the video to come take a drug test.

I find it hard to believe that there wasn' testing at Huesden as well, that's a pretty big meet. Interesting thought though, Webb sets the mile record at a small anonomous meet, probably no testing there. They say it's because no one wanted to run a mile at the major european meets, but is there actually another reason? Then, still riding the high, he goes and runs 1:43 for a major european 800 meter victory. What happens next is he gets tested, the A sample comes back positive and Alan gets a call. The team decides to pull out of Crystal Palace and decide what to do next. I suppose all this is possible, it's also possible that the Mafia and the CIA teamed up to kill JFK, but I don't think it happened. It'll be interesting to see what happens over the next few weeks. Hopefully he's just pulling out of a race with an "injury" because they think it's what's best for Worlds.

Hey Einstein, as the post directly above yours notes, there was drug testing after the AR, and you can see him being taken away for it on Flocast.
dude just read the post above you. Webb was tested immediately after his AR. I swear to god, some people...
just read the post above you, I swear to god, some people, he was tested right after his AR
i wonder if he was tested after he set the american record
if webb has any kind of agent we'll find out soon whether he is out or just being careful. obviously it would make sense for him to duck this due to something minor. he might just be playing gamesmenship or something
or he is done and this sucks.
I'd like to believe that he is clean and sober. I think his progression seems natural and plausible.
However, for those of you who think just because testing is being done people aren't using... how quickly have you forgotten THG? The top pros use drugs that aren't currently detectable. What are guys like Gay using these days? Who knows, but it's good stuff and it's not on the lists...

wow!!! you sound REALLY EXCITED!!!! are you baala, or just some random hater????
It's ridiculous to jump to any conclusions right now. If he tweaked it with 50m to go, then he's probably going to be fine. I mean, worst case, he takes a day or two off, then runs some easy mileage for a couple of days before getting back to some speed before world's. There is enough time before Worlds that a small injury won't matter. The hay is in the barn, he's the fittest MD guy in the world this year, and that won't change in the next few weeks.

Why would they insinuate he's pulling a Regina? Everyone knows White American distance runners who run fast do it through lots of hard work ...
Slaney? Youngquist?

Selective filtering isn't learning.
P.S. Jacobs was dirty.
Time to turn the sarcasm detector back on.
ok, first of all, that post wasn't there when I wrote mine, he must have just beat me to the punch on that one. second, you all must be idiots if you couldn't detect the tone of my post, or as Ol Grumpus said...

honestly, I don't knwo why I even bother trying to use something other than straight forward language to make my point, anything else is way too complex for this croud.
Always verify releases from public relations organizations such as the IAAF.
Alan Webb, who's been on a tear over the past month after his world-leading 3:30.54 victory in Paris, his U.S. record in the mile and a sub-1:44 career best in the 800 last week in Heusden, Belgium, has opted out of the London race to nurse a sore hamstring."It was precautionary to not run in London in light of the World Championships," said Webb's manager Ray Flynn, in an email to RRW. "It was nothing serious and he is back to training and doing well."

pity. crystal palace is a great place to run a mile. not always particularly conducive to fast times, but an amazing atmosphere, nonetheless.
Based on past hoaxes, is there a reliable/authentic/real newspaper, wire service, or Associated Press source ? Link ? URL ?
Wait, you left out one part of the quote. I added it back in for you. Here is the CORRECT version (with left out part in italics) -

"It was precautionary to not run in London in light of the World Championships," said Webb's manager Ray Flynn, in an email to RRW. "It was nothing serious, thanks to the advice we read on LetsRun from that genius poster named "I love Peeps." If it weren't for his advice, we would have been at a loss over what to do, and probably would have missed worlds. But thanks to Peeps, we gave Alan an all-protein diet and iced his hammy ONLY with his knee bent, and thus he is... back to training and doing well."
Obviously a hoax.
I think he's seriously injured
(as far as being ready for Osaka goes)
but taking a week easy followed by a hard week, then a polishing week is probably best.
