If Webb runs a 3:45.55 where would that put him on the all time list?

3:48.25

Why on earth would he go out so fast early and run positive through 800?
Best way would be even on the edge, 56.x, 56.x for 1:53.2-.5 for yards
get by 3/4 not 1200 in 2:50.x again another 56.x type and then whatever ya got.
Going out in 1:51.3, or 1:52.00 for 880 yards represents potential blow up area
Young man have you ever ran anything close to 3:47? I have neither but I trained with a few 3:51-3:53 milers before and its now about having a nice negative/even split to look at and brag about. Its about running the FINAL time and if figuring out which is best for you to strategically do in order to achieve this. For 800-mile it is very hard now to break records and do a negative/even split. One must establish above record pace because pace is so fast you are going to slow down no matter what, at least give yourself some comfort zone if any.
:) Good luck Alan. Your courage is inspiring.
Webb will run 3.55.52
webb might spaz out not brake 4 and finish last. Carried off the track on a litter having lost his bowels.
Did anyone else catch this? Check out the first pacer. If he's serious, i bet he makes it 1200 meters.
yes, them seemed to be rookies

Does anyone know what happened to Lukezic this year. Last year he ran a 3:33 1500 and now probably won't even beat Fountain, a runner very much Lukezic's equal.
Alas, we had the highest hopes for Lukezic when he made the World 1500 meter indoor finals last year. Then came two consecutive 3:33 runs the following outdoor season.

Chris said he was in better shape than last year. But he already was starting to feel the effects of bronchitis in Lausanne. He wanted to run Rome, but his coach (Juli Henner) pulled him. He continued to get sicker. He is on medication and hopefully will regain his strength soon.
That one announcer at Drake definately sounded drunk.
He even called the final time "1:51."
who are all these gutters in the 5000m? is ritz the favorite? i like races where ritz pulls away from the field.
yea it looks like a pretty weak field and it definitely looks like ritz could possibly have a chance without a doubt at maybe being the favorite!
How funny would it be if he popped a 12:58 and stole Webb's thunder.
I know, not even he thinks he's that fast . . . but it would make this little meet the most memorable in decades.
I just want to be drunk and be on this thread, thats my f***in' contribution. GO ALLEN!!! (P.S. this isn't an old HS 4 x 400 team mate)
My only prediction: If he doesn't get it this weekend he won't get it this season.
He should wait until late July next year, getting ready at Bislett, break some tough competition and go for the win. Then he'll wake up the European track fans, doubling his market value and reinstating the mile as the blue ribbon event...
It's good for the sport when records are set in big races. But anyway the best of luck to him - he's probably in such a shape he'll blow away with a record in the corn fields of Belgium....
There is no excuse for being sick Chris. If you had one leg I would still expect at least 3:40!

I see you are drunk enough to mispell your former teammates name. That being said. I think webb is very capable, and I hope he gets this record. If it goes according to plan Im predicting either 3:47 very low or just off the record. he will be really close at the very least.
There is no excuse for being sick and having one leg.
Now to get back in a serious mode enjoy this video. This premiered around the same time Ryan set his world records.
