Lots of dudes right there with 100m to go. Good race...
This guy is going to be the biggest threat to Webb in Osaka.
great race...I thought Boukhensa (sp?) had it, but damn that little dude turned em over fast. He timed that so well.
Its going to come down to who gets in the best position on the last bend and who can hold their form over the last 50m. Too close to call between Kaouch and Webb at the moment it'll be interested to see how Webb does in his next few races.
At the WC, there are heats involved. It's not just who can hold form best over the last 50 of the final. It's also who can qualify while wasting the least energy in the rounds. It's probably advantage Kaouch this time because he's been there and done it, but it might be different for the bigger prize next year. I'm guessing that Webb will be faster next year (if not this year) and Kaouch won't.
The real threat is Belal Mansoor Ali of BRN , he is still only 19 yrs old, he made the finals at the world championships in 2005 as a 17 yr old, running 3:33.86 and 1:44.32 that year as well, this year he has run 1:44.72 ( faster then Webb ) and 3:31.4 beating Daniel Komen by a second. This kid is on great pace to
My predictions for worlds:
1 Belal Mansoor Ali
2nd and so on everyone else

It will come down to who has the best juicing schedule. Ramzi anyone?
i don't know how old kaouch is, but monsoor(19), webb(24?), komen(21?) are all young with good speed, but kaouch probably has the most confidence.
my predictions
kaouch
webb
komen
monsoor
baala
boukensa
korir
simotwo

At this point, top 3 would be huge for Webb. I know everyone on here is hyping him up for the win, and I know he'll be racing to win, but that might be out of his reach at this point. A medal would be extremely impressive. It's going to be fun to watch.

Get with the program buddy, Mansoor's real name is John Yego, formerly of Kenya and he is 25 years old!! He has been exposed by the Kenyan Athletics Federation as an age cheat after he competed in world youth and junior games despite being in his mid-20's!
I'd be ecstatic if Webb finished top 5.
Get with the program yourself buddy, he was cleared of all accusations so he is 19 untill proven guilty, if the IAAF cleared him as a 19 year old then he is in fact 19. You prob also accuse every single person that runs fast from kenya to be on EPO and every sprinter alive to be on steroids.
Just because he left his native country for money and they got mad and tried to pull a fast one against him and say he was older doesn't mean he really was. That is why he was cleared and is still considered a 19 year old by the IAAF.
Suspect I'm afraid.

Nope.
Yea right, and I have a really good fake ID, but that doesn't mean I'm really 21!!
And whether he is a 100 or 10 yrs old, it doesn't really matter, he is Webb's biggest competition right now in my opinion and if he continues his trend has a much better shot at winning then Webb.

Good point.
But I think come WC's there will be far bigger fish to fry.
He ran the 2000 Kenyan Olympics trials. I think he came fifth, apparently he was 25yo at the world youths. A friend of mine was competing and he was even booed(sp) during the race. He ran 1.44 as a 16yo or something like that, crazy!!
