I think I read something in some thread about a 'world masters championships' this September in Europe somewhere? Anyone have the details on that; how one would qualify, etc? (I think this is the meet Henry Rono is training for). Will Nolan Sheed be there along with Jim Sorenson? What about other countries top distance guys? I will be in Europe in Sept. on business and would like to see about attending, if not run.
Not sure about "this" particular meet; but when I was a kid in the 80s, my next door neighbor, a Dr. in his late 60s who was a good masters runner would travel to far away places for 'world masters championships'; places like Australia, South Africa, Sweden, etc; and would come home with lots of medals. You had to be a 'well off financially-masters runner' in the States to pay your way to these meets which were 1/2 vacation, I think. He would take his wife and be there for 2 weeks.

you don't have to qualify, you just pay the entry fee and turn up. i think that the entry deadline has passed already though
