Then there was bib #24, Michael A. Arcuri. Ok, the guys a congressman, but did he really need a elite number to maximize his 1:41:30 finish? I didn't see too many local runners with elite bibs, none that I recall, not even Fiore who arguably deserved one. I realize its just a bib #, but in a race where elite numbers are scarce do they really have to give one to this guy based on his job? If they want to do that they should have gone with a firefighter, cop, doctor, nurse or teacher (or one of the other many deserving occupations) first. I was surprised John Geesler, one of america's top ultra runners, representing us in international competition, a member of this years national 24 hour team, and a US record holder didn't even get a sub-elite number. Maybe he should run for office.....
