I was about to enter the sixth grade, and I was about to be taken over by a Final Fantasy obsession (thanks to FF7's release in Sept, 1997) which would dominate the next couple of years of my life.
I do remember the night Diana died. I knew it was important, but I guess I still don't truly understand its impact because I knew little about her when she was alive, and I can't understand her cultural impact.
Haha, it's funny how many people can say something similar relating to Final Fantasy (especially during the middle school years!)
I didn't discover FF until 98, but I was also just going into middle school, sixth grade. I was waiting for Goldeneye to come out all summer and it finally came out the day before school started.
Had a fun summer from what I can recall, lots of playing in pool and friends coming over. I was big into hockey at the time, so lots of roller-blading and driveway hockey. Lots of N64, super soakers, nerf-gun fights, good times!
