Hello,
I am beginning to train for my first ever marathon this October. I started this week off of absoulutely no base. I used to run competitively for a D1 school, but it has been over a year since ive ran on a regular basis. Anyways, is 18 weeks enough time to go from couch potato to marathon? I want to break 3 hours, which is somewhat of a modest goal considering what I could probably do if I were in peak shape.
I have run 4 days this week: 3 miles, 5 miles, 4 miles, and 5 miles. I plan on running this type of milage for two weeks before I think about throwing in longer runs.
