Mottram interview ahead of the dream mile tonight. Its one of the biggest MD races of the year and has a loaded field. With 7 Kenyans in it the kenyan champs will be lacking a few this weekend! My money is on Kipchirchir Komen in 3.47/8

Putted my money on Mottram 25-1 seemed a bit high, compared to Choge and Komen 3-1.

Mottram is 25-1 for a reason! he can win 3km/2mile-10km races and time trial a good mile but when it comes to getting over the line 1st against specialist milers webb and lagat showed the difference. It will also be his 3rd race in as many weeks and only 6 days since his last one, during which he's had a long haul flight and several time zones to change. He'll run fast and be in contention but can't see him winning with so many others

mottram at 25-1 to win nay race is always worth a bet. the guy is a winner. sure the mile isnt his favourite distance but he could still beat most of the guys in that field and he is in great form.

That's why put my money on Webb and Lagat. They're better at the mile. Mottram won't beat them. Never mind that they're not in the race...

Where the hell are the Americans. Webb maybe still licking his wounds from that 2 mile debacle. This was the race were American milers like Scott, Spivey, Byers, Harbour, and Falcon cut their teeth. In fact it is the one race where just about all the great American milers first broke 3:50.

How serious are Lukezic and Myers?

No one in this race is scared of Mottram, They probabley aren't even thinking of him as a factor.

webb and lagat would get an invite to this race, but on the european circuit this race is huge. without a good agent Lukezic and Myers and not going to get on the start line, there is a 1500m earlier in the evening full of sub 3.40 men who would show the best of the rest of american milers a clean pair of heels. You've got to be in low 3.50 shape or faster to want to line up with these guys tonight, it'll be smokin'

"The American's" are probably getting ready for the US Championships next weekend. I doubt any of them would want to travel to Norway and back so soon to a championships race. I'm sure Lukezic and Myers are serious and that is why they aren't racing there. What is more important, trying to get a medal or running 3:49?
