I'm looking for a fall 1/2 in NYC and was wondering how the course for the Staten Island 1/2 is. It's pretty much down to that or Grete's Gallop in CP, but I'd prefer something other than the same old CP loops.
Thanks.

It's not a bad course. An out-and-back with some gradual ups and downs. In past years they subcontracted out the race management to a local crew who had some problems with accurate course measurement. Don't know if this has been corrected.
If you don't mind the train ride, you could do the Yonkers Half in September.
Thanks for the input. September's not really an option, but I'll keep Yonkers on the radar for future years.
SI Half is a decent course, out & back along/near the harbor, not dead flat but fairly flat.
Or cross the river for the Liberty Waterfront Half Marathon in to Jersey City (easy access -- start/finish is across the street from the Harborside/Exchange Place PATH station). Early October, exact date TBA but will be available on CompuScore.com long enough in advance.
The Liberty Half IS dead flat - pool-table flat. That said, the course is about 75% on the river/harbor waterfront and the wind can be an issue if it's strong.
