whats a good shoe to wear on recovery days?
you obviously want something with maximum cushioning and very little responsiveness because your legs are so beat down from the hard workout or race.
would the brooks beast be the best choice?

Probably the Asics Nimbus
I prefer a good pair of new balance cross trainers. L.A. Gear had a decent recovery shoe out in the late 90's too, but I can't seem to find them anymore.
Crocs. Or maybe Chuck Taylors.
I thought you were letsrun's resident expert on that kind of useless crap.

NO, those are "too agressive".
Nickelodeon Moon Shoes.
bam. thread over.
Try to find the old Asics MC Plus, and then put 3 Superfeet insoles and 2 Spenco Orthotics in there. You can never have enough support or cushioning. Please be advised that you may have to go up 4 sizes.
The same shoe you wear every other day. And when those get worn, get another pair.
Worrying about little things like this is why American runners have done so poorly in the past. Just run, and don't worry about every little piece of minutia.
Brooks Beast or whatever Chris Hall runs in.
high heels give good arch support
Nike milers
uggs. slippers or moon boots.
further proof that the 430 miler is a f***ing retard....what the f*** are you talking about you dipshit....special shoes for a recovery day....how about your trainers you dumb f***.
come on now....we want serious replies, what would you be wearing?
just run barefoot....ya fugh ahhhss
bump
Something with a very aggressive cushion, an extemely agressive last, an aggressive lacing system, and a somewhat aggressive tongue.
Doesn't this ring a bell?

so i have a high arch, and im also a severe overpronator (ya i know, most severe overpronators have flat feet)
and ive been wearing the brooks beast for about 5 years now, and i think it is the perfect shoe. it has maximum cushioning and stability.
i dont see any reason why the brooks beast wouldnt be the go-to shoe for ALL runners. it has everything that the worst possible pronator could need. yes, i understand some runner dont "need" that much support or cushioning because they are light/efficient etc.; but would it hurt? it doesnt make you supinate at all, and only corrects any podiatry defects that you may have and/or aquire. why doesnt everybody wear the brooks beast? its not going to hurt underpronators or neutral runner, it only offers more protection and cushioning.
i realize it is the only option for severe overpronators, but it seems to me like everybody should wear the beast because of its cushioning and stability. like i said, its not going to hurt supinators/underpronators, and will only correct/prevent any other detrimental running/podiatry defect that our sport has to offer.
anybody know why it isnt THE perfect shoe for every runner?
