I am in my early twenties and I have been running competitively (high school & college) for years now but just this winter/spring and last winter/spring I have suffered from pain in my hips. Its like an achey pain and limits my mobility, meaning I can't seem to lift my legs up or lengthen my stride as much. First I was told I was out of allignment, then I was told that one leg was shorter than the other and recently I was told that I suffer from hip bursitis.
I've gotten re-alligned, put an insert in my shoe to make up for the "supposed" difference in leg length, taken time off, taken naproxen for almost 2 monthes, and treated my hips with ionto-phoresis and so on... it seemed to be getting better but now that I have started to run more its kicked in again...
Does bursitis seem correct?
Is this common in runners?
and what can I do for it?
any advice would be greatly appreciated!!
