oh okay. was just wondering if the lead guys had to be the fastest runners since a slow runner would cause the whole platoon to backup.
how fast did you run your 1 1/2 mile and 3 mile runs?
Skip the guidons and go for the road guard position. Trust me you do not want to be in mid pack with a bunch of newbies.
I was Army (82nd Airborne Div) so my best PT test was 88 push ups/96 situps in 2 minutes each and 10:01 for two miles. My best mile time in Army boots on the track was a 5:20. Kinda of funny, everyone asked if I was in the Olympics. Of course I told them all that I was...
The thing about basic training that I remember was that I met another former D1 runner (Tennesse grad) who couldn't handle the painfully slow 'runs' either. So we would sneak out at 4 a.m. to stretch our legs by running 40 laps around the "quad". The drill sargeants finally put a stop to that, hence my career as a road guard...
Tear it up soldier and good luck...
