I'm smack in the middle of my summer tri season, but came down with a nasty cold virus about 9 days ago. Normally, I run through colds, lowering mileage by ~30% or so until energy is back to normal. But this one knocked me flat on my ass; I was in bed for 3 days straight, going through a Kleenex box a day, with dizziness, full body aches, and chills. I tried for an easy, long-ish run on Saturday, but only made it six miles before my head started spinning again. Wicked frustrating.
I'm still not back to normal, but the dizziness and achiness is basically gone, and I've done some easy swimming and biking in the past couple of days. When do y'all think it's safe to up my mileage to where it was, pre-cold virus? (I'm going to try some tempo running tonight to see how things feel.)
