quick background,...early 30's, just a little under 1 year running so far, ran a 1:40 HM last January and 3:42 marathon back in march. currently running ~30-35mpw
My maxHR is 188, and a typical easy run (75%maxHR=141bpm) is right around a 9:30 pace right now. I assume that I should start to see this sluggish pace get progressively faster over time, as I continue to get more aerobically fit.
Most of the year, I don't have any local races that interest me, so I'm wondering if this is a good (or even valid) method of seeing improvement as I continue to train, and hopefully am able to be motivated by seeing some tangible progress as I do so.
Any idea of how much my pace at this effort level should be expected to increase over the next 4, 8, 12, 20, etc...weeks or so?
Just looking for some kind of guideline so that I can tell if I'm improving a) quite well, b) decently, c) barely, d) not at all
I DO some running higher effort levels than this throughout the week, I just picked this 75% point to track since this is probably where most of my running is done (as is recommended by most running authorities it seems, at least for us less experienced runners)
Thoughts and/or suggestions? TIA
