who?
who?
Vigalante would be a big time hire for them. He would generate a lot of excitement for the porogram.
Henner is a safe choice, but just keeps things status quo. Eventhough he is a very good coach, I don't think he is the right guy for this position.
Vallmon would be an interesting hire. I don't think he would keep Henner around though. Don't think he would ultimately get it for numerous significant reasons.
Wood from Columbia is an interesting name in the mix. Their 4 x 8 at Penn was ridiculous. He is probably the most logical choice after Vig, but doubt they would do it.
Jermayn from Duke is a Georgetwon man. He has had some tremendous success with the Duke women, but din't think he has ever coached men.
Willy Wood's guys have had surprisingly good results in a lot of events--seems to do a good job recruiting-probably better than Gtwn does already-he's also used to not having unbelieveable facilities--be sad to see him leave Columbia but it would be a good oppty for him
Wood would not be interested in the Georgetown job. It would be a come down from Columbia.
Who is it--Henner or Vigilante? Insiders please let us know.
Either way new assistants will have to be brought in. Conventional wisdom probably has them giving the job to Henner, but I think that he will have to hire some strong assistants to make things work--Gtwn gets out recuited now by both the ivies as well as the big mid distance powers and the team has tended to fall short of capabilities in big meets.
pat henner should hire julie henner
They should hire David Hemery --the UK Olympic 400mh gold medalist. He coaches one of their top recruits, the Uk's top 400mh junior.
Don't think so. I know Columbia did some great things this yr, but saying that they have a better track program than Gtwn is a stretch.
There seems to be a close connection between the Columbia and Gtwn programs anyway since one of Columbia's women ran for Gtwn very successfully this year as a grad student and I think a couple of the Columbia assistants are Gtwn grads.
I heard from one of the top runners on the team and another source that they are looking at someone not yet mentioned from the west coast. Could surprise everyone
Lets hope its a good surprise.

Prediction - Louie Quintana
I think they are going to go new and young...
Don't see that happening-if they go out west I think it won't be for a distance guy--also ASU has pretty much nothing in common with Gtwn. Also Henner is not that old, though I do think that they will go for youth if they don't take Henner.
Word is that somebody will be offered next week.
So who has interviewed besides Jermyn (Duke women and GU alum), Vigilante (Texas men and NCSU alum), and Henner (GU men and VT alum)? Is it just those three?
