As someone who is paying back taxes, interest, and penalty, I can assure you the IRS WILL track you down, and exact their due. Not only that, they will go after any assets, wages, or holdings you may have. So, if you don't want your employer calling you and telling you that your next paycheck is being garnished, then you better make an attempt to pay or make installments. BASTARDS!!
remember that 60 percent of your tax dollars either go towards military funding, corporate welfare programs, or paying interest on the national debt. so there are certainly morally justifiable reasons for not doing so. yes, it's illegal, but so is speeding, talking sh*t about the president, etc. etc. why not? take a chance?
