You don't like it? Invest in bio-fuels and put them out of business.
Otherwise, quit whining.
I do understand that there is a difference between profit and profit margin, that's why I pointed out that both increased for Exxon in 2006.
I do understand that there is nothing wrong, legally, with free markets and corporations making a buck. That's why I didn't say that Exxon should be punished. I just pointed out that, while Exxon has done well for itself, it hasn't helped the American consumer. Now, Exxon doesn't have to feel compelled to help the American consumer, but I think it should. I think there's something ethically wrong with making record profits at a time like this where external factors are driving prices up. Unless, of course, the record profits are a result of brilliant cost-cutting, which I recognized as a possibility.
Thanks for the suggestion about investing in bio-feuls,
I'll think about it.
I wasn't whining. Again, I didn't say Exxon should be punished, I didn't say I felt wronged. I said I don't think Exxon has been good to the American consumer. Again, I'm not saying it has to be good to the American consumer. I'm just sharing information and an opinion.
You do understand that there's nothing wrong with free speech, don't you?
Don't like it? Move to Iran or stop reading message boards.
