I\'m a high school senior looking for some advice on how best to run the 800 and also what times I should aim for this coming season.
I have run 53.3 in the 400 (I think I could run high 52), but have only run 1:59 in the 800. Personally I don\'t think it is because of poor aerobic capacity as I have run 15:20\'s in the 5k.
So question number one.... Is 1:59 in the 800 slow for a 53 second 400 runner with a mile PR of 4:20 and a 5k of 15:29?
And two... What is the best pacing and tactical strategy for running fast in the 800?
Last question... What time do you think I should aim for based on the information I\'ve provided?
