I am wondering what an easy run pace should be for a 3:50 1500m / 8:20 3000m guy - HS Senior

Nevermind, that one shows race paces.
This one shows race paces:
http://www.runnersworld.com/cda/trainingcalculator/0,7169,s6-238-277-279-0-0-0-0-0,00.html
EZ Runs - 5:50 to 6:20
Recovery Jogs - 6:50 to 7:20
I like how you seperated easy run vs recovery run... much easier to understand :)
Roughly 75% of VO2max pace (70% for long distance types), which would be 75% of your 3K pace, or about 6:00 pace.
I guess when it comes to running EZ always err on the conservative side...
Coach D is wrong. do not do your easy days at 6:00 pace. You will never completely recover from your quality sessions and thus wont reach your potential fitness. Easy days should be 700 + for a 3:50 1500 guy.
Yeah, I'm going to agree with this guy. 6:00 is way too fast for a person running 405+ miles. You can't go too slow on your recovery runs. Esp if you're going hard-easy-hard.
As slow as is comfortable. On easy recovery days, the pace can never be too slow.
I hope Coach D really is not a coach.
6:30 - 7:30
just run easy, since when has pace really mattered on easy runs?
