Ah, white guys do very well against the Africans in the 800 and 1500, it's the 5 & 10, where the drugs kick in, that they have trouble, having to go through real testing with no political protection and 'pity' like the third worlders get.

What the f*** is a baller?
I've heard people say this and it means nothing to me, it just makes the person sound like a twat.
Hip-hop culture is working from one direction on the youth of America, and George W. Bush is working from the other direction, when they meet in the middle it will be the end of civilisation on this planet.
1. Your a moron.
2. "Balla/Baller" DOES NOT COME FROM HIP HOP! It was used WAAAAY BEFORE THAT. In fact about lets see, 100% of everything you hear in hip hop was already used way before it was putup in a song. Skeet, Shizzle, all that was already used before it made it to songs.
3. Someone whose a baller is either a very very good basketball player OR someone who excels in their specialty/pursued endeavor. Therefore even if your a lawyer, if your undefeated and are good enough to get a freakin muderer off the hook WHEN EVERYONE KNOWS HES GUILTY, i.e. JOHNNY COCHRAN, you can be considered a baller status lawyer or just a straight up baller. So therefore you could say Johnny Cochran was the most balla(baller) lawyer ever to exist.
goddamn white people.
4. your political intertwining of two COMPLETELY opposite cultures just made you look more idiotic. I like how you have all this intelligent inquiry and ideology about 1. something you have NO CLUE about i.e. hip hop culture, and 2. something thats a tired subject and while you spout this weak sh-t you continue to sit idly on your computer like the fat ass you are making no moves whatsover to bring action to this injustice you are so passionate about.
haha loser.
What the f**k is your problem, who gives a s**t if they call him a baller HE JUST RAN A 3:56 INDOORS ASS HOLE!!!!!!!! IT'S AMERICA BUDDY!!!! BAAAAALLLLLLLIINNNNNNN!!!!!!!

But the kid is just that- a baller!
Article last April:
http://blog.willamette.edu/stories/archives/2006/06/fleetfooted_sym.php
"training last summer with two teammates in the thin air of Toluca, Mexico, 9,000 feet above sea level."
back on topic someone made a comment about him being undefeated in college. I do not know about the 1500/mile, but he was undefeated in the 800 from his sophomore year of high school up until USATF loss to KD. This run included 3 state championships (idaho??), and a number of national championships while at willamette. The kid is an immense talent, and was obviously limited by the races he could get into while in college, because as soon as he faced people going faster than 1:47, so did he.
I would also like to point out another d3er that most of you do not know...kliemenhagen (sp?) was the mile/800 champ indoors a few years back, he ran sub 4 last year at Boston Indoor Games, and this year one the 5k at the twin series marathon.
Can we reserve the extremely gay term "baller" for someone who did not just run 3.56.72. Don’t drag a great performance down by tagging it with some culturally isolated lingo created by frustrated urban youth. That’s like saying this guys a "Twirler"-which may represent a fantastic ballerina that prances around with a high degree of poise and finesse. This is letsrun not letsball.
For the record my country spanks yours at basketball just about every time they play-and over here no body even plays the game (literally-I have never met anyone that plays basketball). Basketball seems to be the pride of America yet most world championships you dont make it to top 3.
Symmonds run was fantastic. Congratulations on having another new superstar in the states. 3.56 is very very solid this early in the season and I can't wait to see what he can run later on. Would be great to see him have an early crack at the 800m.
3:56 indoors first crack for a guy who's better event is the 800 is a little scary.
Well said. In all seriousness, the word makes me gag, and I'm glad it's not just me.

Actually, he looks like a wrestler or a thrower.
i thought tim goldsack never posts on letsrun.com?
no I post all the time, just not on the thread about coache in atl. I always post under my name.
I've honestly never heard of this kid. But 145 and an early season 356, wow! ANd the amazing thing is that he is so laid back. He is a pure talent. He doesn't seem concerned with the latest training trends or coaches. He just goes out and runs fast. I think we are gonna see alot more from this guy. Does anyone know any more on the guy. He mentioned running 155 as a high school junior. What was his time progression from there?

in flocast interview he said he was a 2 miler in hs sophomore year and jumped in the 4 x 800 for an injured teammate and ran 1:58 on his first try.
junior year 1:57 at state meet for 1st(also won 16 and 32)
senior year 1:53.6 at state for first(also won 16 and 32)
not sure the progression in college though his senior year he ran a 1:47 for a d3 record.
knows he had knee surgery sophmore winter, still won 800 at d3 nationals. won d3 nats every year in 8 and15 cept for soph where he didnt run 15.
Great interview with Steve Cram - says Jakob has no chance of WRs this year
