Thoughts on life stress IE. kids, work, family stuff and the equivalent of what these factors might be in terms of training. With some frequency I end up with some type of nagging cold or sinus deal from pushing the limit with my training and then factoring in these others. I've three great boys ages 11,7,3 and a fantastic wife who is a runner herself and really understands the sport and what it takes. Naturally the kids bring home the sniffles and sore throats from school then it gets passed around, yada yada yada, it seems whenever i do more than one really hard effort a week I end with something especially in the winter months. I purchased a HR Monitor to use and keep myself in check and not let the easy / recovery days get away.
Any thoughts - should I use the monitor everyday for several months to get a handle on effort and HR, maybe stick to T-hold workout once per week and mix the long run with t-hold as Daniels suggests. My goal is get a sub 30 10k this spring and eliminate the risk of overtraining.
