Uh, ever heard of Bob Deines or Yuki Kawuachi? Basically trained just like this. Except longer long runs and Bob Deines races every week for speed work. Yuki Kawuachi does one interval, race ever other week or long tempo run.
Hey, so was the OTQ standard only 2:21:59 in 2004. Runners today have it much tougher. 2:19:00 is a world of difference.
