well you need a liver if you're gonna D-liver on the track
Since Bucknell is surrounded by PSAC schools, I thought I would piggyback on the PSAC thread and let you know about our annual 3 mile cross country race on saturday july 19 at 5:30pm at our west fields. (west side of rt 15 across from the campus) The race is open to the public and we typically get 80-90 runners of all ages and levels every year. Although it is not mandatory--apx. 80 percent of the Bucknell Cross Country Team (male and female) will run and use it as a summer fitness test. We usually get some recent alum's who still train as well. The cost is 5 dollars per person and you can register when you arrive. No awards. Just an old fashion race. Results available immediately after the race. This is a good opportunity to test your summer fitness without having to pay 20 dollars for a road race. The course is a 1.5 mile loop run twice which includes a decent size hill. Terrain is mostly grass with some gravel path. Racing flats or quarter inch spikes are recommended.

Let's find a place to meet. Shaf & I are sitting in Section U right at track level.
Sauls, I agree -- the 800's will be awesome. The men's race will be awesome...love Nick Symmonds and the Oregon Track Club singlets are very cool. And, Chanelle Price in the women's race should be stellar.
Would love to go out Friday night in Eugene with you guys. Anybody else going to be there?

why were the last 6 months worth of posts deleted?
Troy couldn't help himself and he ate them... piggy.
How its going?
The kid, josh neyhart, does not care about runners. Hes an elitist prick who spends his time on message boards hiding and bashing everyone.
I agree, The kid is a Basher, Loser and a Wanna be Running Star.
word on the street is that Josh Neyhart is a part of an NSYNC tribute group, in which he is the equivalent of Lance Bass.. that could put a damper on his summer training. it must be hard to manage being in a boy band tribute band and running 100 miles a week at the same time.
My question: Who cares?
Next topic:
Nike is now selling those t-shirts that have that Swoosh windmill that is on the back of all those Edinboro xc shirts.
I guess now Edinboro isn't as original. Those colors are always sweet, though.
The Nike "windmill" was one of their original designs for equipment back in the mid-70's. I think Edinboro has displayed that look ever since. So, continue to consider Edinboro as 'original.' As long as Doug Watts is coaching them, they'll always be 'original' :)
People seem to care because he claims to be a fan of running but all he seems to actually do is bash other runners he is apparently jealous of. By the way yes i have witnessed him doing this, so yes he is a douchebag
Speaking of Edinboro... Ben Hahn and Josh Arthur can suck it! <3
Now how are they gonna do that, they're training there ass off at Altitude right now!

I was wondering, how many of you guys take iron supplements? i moved back home and mom sees me taking this iron and basically thinks i'm ruining my liver.
holler at me
Moravec,
As long as you have your iron levels tested via a blood test to make sure they are still at a healthy level semi-annually you should be fine. I take a prescription strength iron supplement because of a serious battle with anemia during my sophmore year of track and junior year of cross (which is why i redshirted cross my junior year). I ended up getting so bad that I could not run 3 miles at 7 min pace without my heart rate going above 180. The tricks to taking an iron supplement I found are that you should take it on an empty stomach (but not right before you run because it can upset your stomach) and take it with vitamin C (either a supplement or with OJ).
PSAC Alum,
I am planning on traveling to run a big half marathon at the end of '08 or the start of '09 (possibly Houston?) If anyone wants to come along we can split car rental and hotel to make it cheaper. Jorge?...are you training yet?

Strauman thinks he'll be IUP's No. 5 or 6. Am I the only one who thinks that at the worst he'll be maybe third?
lovin all this xc talk...
boro should be ahead in the guys by far, most likely untouchable by anybody in the region.
the battle for second should be awesome though... with just two bids to nats, look for rock, haven and ship to be goin at it all year. In my opinion its gonna come down to which team stays the healthiest and trains the smartest, so we can probably count LHU out. ship girls should be fun to watch too, hott as well as fast.
any psac runners do the boilmaker this year?
It is not a secret that IUP's XC has been gone downhill for quite some time. Strauman will be at least third on that team but wouldn't make top 7 for top PSAC teams. Not sure IUP has seven bodies. There is a big difference between 800 and cross.
Also, Sean stop promoting yourself.
I’m a D2 female runner. Our coach explicitly told us not to visit LetsRun forums.
Great interview with Steve Cram - says Jakob has no chance of WRs this year
