I would agree that the Stanford times are equal to or even faster than the Sundodger and Willamette races. Figuring by comparing racers on the different courses, Stanford may now be the fastest 8k on the west coast.

I guess it's a trade-off between more hills vs. more spectator friendly.
The hills, or at least the biggest of the hills, was removed from the courses to ease meet administration. I guess that means they were bothersome just because it put part of the course so far away from the start/finish area.

yes. Only difference was one loop which equaled 2k more.
