TBH I was kinda disappointed in the book. I respect enormously what he did with his program, but there were multiple times (when I was reading the book) where I just didn't know exactly what he was trying to say, or how one piece fitted with another. A knowledgeable editor would have been a real help.

I literally got one from him within the last 6 months. He wrote to me that getting letters from people keeps him going.

I found it in a review on Amazon. I think you can also find it in an old thread on Letsrun.

It would be interesting to know how Deena Kastor trained, especially in her buildup to the bronze in the 2004 Olympic marathon.

I recommend the book Chasing Excellence. That really shows how hard the Adams State training was.

vshsins made an outstanding recommendation with the Vigil biography. Sub-9:00 guy and others may find the Denna Kastor autobiography informative but void of detailed training data. When read concurrently, these books provide a glimpse into a caring coach-athlete relationship from both unique perspectives.
