Are the transfer rules actually this loose nowadays? Or did she just verbally commit in December?

Well, the "problem" is that without some kind of "contract" in place what is to stop the top kids from all moving to the same school, sucking up a ton of NIL money, booting the local kids off the team, and winning every championship?
If there is no limit, couldn't Phil Knight just offer +$100,000 to the top kids in each event and have them all move to Oregon? If he just buys up the best sophomores and juniors, he'd have a team that could literally win every event.
That is why we have to have rules.
without delving deep into juliet's situation, she requested release from florida and ultimately chose oregon. the situation was a bit more complicated than that but im not comfortable with spilling out her situation on a public forum

also, her situation was more than just building a super team at oregon. you could argue she couldve been a part of one at florida too. in an ideal world, she wouldve stayed at texas tech but she couldn't
