prediction: she gets the trials standard but DNFs in the prelim. her fangirls actually believe her when she says everyone on the starting line has an equal chance of making the team?? it's a pure ploy for attention. her IG suggests she has indeed been training, but she's a fitness model at this point.
If she can stay healthy enough to make through a prelim then I think she has a shot. She's super talented. But I agree with you that there will be a DNF or DNS at some point. I don't think she can do the back to back steeples required at the Trials.

I've been following her training on instagram (not strava). Seems healthy and positive. Loads of natural talent. I bet she gets standard, but is outclassed due to lack of top level fitness at Trials, despite the fact this is the weakest women's steeple field in a long time without Coburn and Frerichs.
She needs to run a 9:41 to go to the dance. She ran a 9:32 at this meet last year. She probably has an idea where she is fitness-wise to repeat last year’s performance.

Yes, it is 100% a ploy for attention, and it is making her sponsors extremely happy. That video is going to get 100s of thousands of views. She is very good at being a fitness model.
All she needs to do is qualify for the trials. She has 0 chance of making the team, but I'd guess that she has at least a 50% chance of running the trials standard this weekend. She doesn't like to look like a fool; she only races when she knows she is fit.
She's instantly the center of attention if she qualifies. Of the old top 3 in the women's steeple, she's the only one on the starting line in 2024. That's an easier story for NBC to run with than trying to research and present to the viewer info about Gracie Hyde or Gab Jennings. They will also couple her story with Kate Grace's story. These are the stories the US casual viewer wants to hear.

This is the weakest field in several years. I'm not confident she can do it back to back but if she can find a way to be healthy enough to make the starting line I think she has a shot. This will likely be her last track race so that's a factor as well.

Track women seem to be even more delusional than track men.

She should team up with Lolo Jones to make videos.
"Weird. She posted several videos TODAY that indicated she was in Eugene and was going to race. She also said her sister would be outside the stadium selling T-shirts for "The Track Collective" that is raising money to donate to athletes who are unsponsored to help with their expenses "because I'm going to be at the track getting ready for my race." I love that she is helping others but I still can't understand why she is not running. She literally posted at 2:20 pm that she was going to race."
The race was at 6:00, only 3-1/2 hours after she posted.

How things have changed. Quigs hopes to chug home in 9:41 while Allie O attacks 9:23.
