Imagine it: you and your friends draft and trade throwers, sprinters, distance runners, and jumpers.
Think of how much more interest you could add to professional track .
Thoughts?

Challenge is the unpredictability of fields in meets. Diamond League even has odd attendance patterns.
That's what would make it interesting
OH DUDE MY THOUGHTS?! FANTASY! i am frothing literally with sweat dripping!! this is SO FREAKING awesome!!! FOR LIKE FOR evr i have searched for an outlet for my ENERGIES and THIS! IS! IT! so coooool!!!!!! DUDE we would HAVE A blast! OMG!!!!! FANTASY TIME!!!!
A friend and I do this for NCAA XC Natty's. We each draft 7 men and 7 women, 5 men's teams and 5 women's teams. Score it just like a cross country meet, low score wins.
As a meet director I’ve tried many ways to engage fans and a few times that’s involved point based systems or other indirect comparisons. Nothing has ever worked as well as head-to-head competition on the track. Fans respond to big performances and personal rivalries.
There is already Fantasy Diamond League…
Track and Field News used to do exactly this on their website!
You ”drafted” 21 athletes (for the 21 events in Olympic T&F.
Last time I engaged with it was probably 2004????
Another idea: xc and/or track cards like they have for football and baseball (Topps)
