Thank goodness guns are so readily accessible in our country.
How much gun control does Vermont have? What's its murder rate?
How much gun control do Baltimore, Chicago, DC have?
Interesting that you should ask - per capita, Vermont isn't the gun violence free zone that you seem to think it is. This is from late last year:
"Statewide, Vermont’s homicide rate last year was about 3.9 per 100,000, compared with Los Angeles at 3.1 and New York City at 2.3 per 100,000, Loan said. Burlington’s rate was 11.2 per 100,000, exceeding the rates in Philadelphia, Phoenix and Springfield, Massachusetts, according to Loan."
The shootings of three college students of Palestinian descent in Vermont’s largest city, often ranked as one of the safest in the country, is grappling with a spike in gun violence.
Problem is that bascially anyone can carry a gun in Texas (and several other GOP led states in the south) without any permit or license or training, concealed or not. They have a gun and get into an argument and then pull and fire the weapon. Almost always over some BS nonsense when your life was not in danger.
Why would I need a permit or license or training to exercise my constitutional rights?
Hmmm - perhaps it's because the rights granted to us in the Constitution aren't unlimited and can still be subject to restrictions. Otherwise, why can't I stand in the Senate gallery during a hearing and start cursing them out at the top of my lungs or disrupt an official court proceeding with a protest about Gaza?
Isn't this the EXACT ending to Stand by Me? The kid grows up to be a lawyer, tries to mediate a situation in a fast food restaurant and gets stabbed to death.
Came here to post this. Glad others thought the same thing and made the post.
