They wanted to try to get some qualifiers and work at near race pace, so they gave it a go. The weather was terrible so they abandoned when it wasn't going to happen.
Back in my day we chose what meet to attend based on weather. We chose Payton Jordon for Galen and Co to run fast and not Portland due to weather. We had flights booked, travel taken care of…. This ban is bull shat man get me back out there to save IS distance running, again.
Damn, I'd be so pissed if I was a normal student there paying tuition to fund this guy's outrageous salary plus all the full rides of guys who never run in an Oregon uniform.
Wait until you start paying taxes and realize the monetary waste and abuse by your “government of the people”.
What a lousy meet. That program is just down the drain, thanks Jerry.
The weather had a lot to do with it, speaking of which I don't understand how the U of O can attract top recruits when they see it rain day after day. Ironically, it will be nice and sunny next week.
why are they wearing sunglasses?? i get some guys wear it as a thing, even indoors and in sunlessness, but.. they keep wiping them off beforehand, seem like more of a hindrance. and like four of them wearing them
There’s definitely a possibility that NCAA outdoors and the trials can have a downpour mid-race. It’s happened before. This isn’t baseball where you stop the game; you still run and train when it rains. His groups should especially be used to these conditions. This whole, “let’s not try hard when the conditions aren’t perfect,” is a joke. He made Jesse move one of the Sound running meets a day later because of winds a few years back.
