Grateful to be running for fun and some of the base mileage and threshold workouts paid off. Time was 1:38:33. Opened up in 38-ish for the first 5 (first 3 in 24, very cautious) and ran by feel, then was at 75:10 for 10, feeling strong and hitting tons of 7:15s for 5-6 miles, no problem. The last 3 I slowed a little bit to 7:38 pace due to heat and hills (23:21 5k) but still finished strong with 1:39 or so on the clock (gun time). Didn't break 1:35 but was just happy to be under 1:40.
Only thing I wish I could have done was take the pickle juice at the end--left calf cramped for 30 seconds and it was tough. Thankfully I had some biofreeze equivalent with me (deep blue rub, actually) and that helped.
Will take some time for just EZ running before starting back up later this month for a bigger build. 5k in July and then a full or a half in October.
