Well stated. For contrast, look at how well Washington, NAU, Villanova, and Virginia are doing. Oregon's distance program is moribund by comparison. THAT is damming evidence against Jerry. He needs to quit or get fired. Also notice how everyone in BTC left him...EVERYONE.
Burritogate got out of hand, and Nike knew they had to slowly disband BTC without drawing too much attention to themselves. Jerry was a loyal soldier denying EVERYTHING and staying loyal to Shelby. Shelby had a lot of power in this situation, too. She kept mum about everything and will be rewarded with a new contract the moment her suspension is lifted.
Nike knew that most of BTC wouldn't want to move to Eugene. They were right about that.
Nike thought that Jerry would have no problems coaching at Oregon. He gets rewarded with a low-pressure, high paying job. I mean, with the level of recruits they can get on the name brand alone, ANYONE should have success coaching that team.
But, Jerry trained his kids into the ground and gave them little opportunity to race, and now the whole situation is a giant mess.
Yes, you're right, it's hard to win with freshman. Look at U of Oregon in '69, only 2nd with some frosh name Steve. Oh and Oregon in '73. They win with 2 freshmen scoring (Williams and Taylor).

You nailed. All planned, from the beginning (since Shelby got caught) to the end (BTC auto-dismantling itself). Only one problem: Jerry is not performing at Oregon. But have no fear, rojo still has his back.
Tbh after his performance at oregon, I am more convinced the doping at BTC was pervasive and beyond just shelby.
If the BTC was a doping group, I think you wouldn't be seeing the mass exodus as they wouldn't want to leave their supplier.
Hasn't it been the responsibility of athletes to source and administer their own drugs since the festina affair? Aside from perhaps a "team doctor" an athlete keeps around (ferarri) or say a guy (alsal) with a tacklebox full of drugs both legal and illegal. I'm not saying BTC was a dirty club but your reasoning lacks logic.
Clearly nervous in his interview. The smiles and head movements are a tell tail sign.
He gained confidence as he focused on a thrower that is doing well.
Finally when asked about his distance program he showed nervous body language once more.
This is the University of Oregon for goodness sakes. He has been given and recruited some of the best distance runners in the country. He has had time to develop them and the opposite of development has happened.
BTC is another story. It’s demise has been tragic.
You guys are all obsessed with this for no reason and need to go to therapy.
