Most of the time, even if I can easily afford something, I still try to make good decisions about money and not be "wasteful." It is just second nature to me not to waste money because we grew up pretty broke (1970s, bad economy, never had extra money). So now, even though I can afford most everything I want, I still would never want to be wasteful. It feels bad.
But do you ever just say, screw it, and spend too much money? Would you buy a $250 running jacket knowing full-well that you can get one for $24.99 on Amazon? They are not as good but they are almost as good for 90% less money. Would you pay $13 for a single beer? What about $7.99 for a big cookie? What about $22 for two so-called street tacos? Where do you draw the line and where do you say, "I don't really care, I'm buying it."
