It’s a Saturday afternoon and this is how you spend your time?
Someone never achieved their goals in life and lives under Emma’s and Praught-Leer’s shadow!! Haters gonna hate :)
I've achieved all my goals in life thank you very much, I just wasn't delusional and I set attainable and satisfying ones. Praught-Leer out there running 16:36 in a DL meet is hilarious and Coburn has been washed for years now and you all just won't face the music. She's actually always been washed, she just got lucky 1 year that Chepkoech was directionally challenged. It's over, Team Boss will be no more.
I was watching the CNBC coverage, wondering what they'd say about the DNF. As it turned ot, they didn't even notice! As the leaders finished the announcer said, umm, we don't see Emma Colburn, we'll have to watch for her. Guys, she dropped out at 2K, so with several laps to go; were they not paying any attention? How did this escape the notice of the entire broadcasting team?
Pathetic, even for NBC.
I learned from Des & Kara's podcast that the announcers aren't always in a position to actually see the track -- sometimes they have to announce off of literally the same footage we're seeing (complete with slow-mos, replays, etc.). Given the lack of commentary on anything happening behind the leaders in the distance races, I think that's what was happening here. Dumb? Totally. But not the announcers' fault.
Coburn's main limit was using classic hurdle technique, which may get you over the barrier smoothly like a track hurdle, but it's not a track hurdle. You don't need to get over smoothly and hold all your speed, you need to save energy.
Kenyans invented the much better hop technique. Western coaches need to finally admit this and stop holding their athletes back.

Even if you are somewhat accurate about Coburn I see nothing particularly humorous in her DNF. Normal people don't laugh at other's misfortunes.

Only when it's the white girls do the tears come out, when Angel Reese lost, there were cheers, celebrations, and the usual name calling. Numerous threads about Sha'Carri and currently one up now about her losing. No one cares about these, it's only the white tears that make your hearts melt. And I don't want to hear about Angel Reese and the taunting, Coburn and her "everyone (that's black) is doping if I can't beat them" mentality is the worst, and when she lost to Gear, she didn't even properly congratulate her, she made up an excuse. She DNF because she was getting spanked, as usual. That's hilarious.

The announcers were in America watching from a computer screen.
Gabbi Jennings is the real deal. Keep an eye on her in Eugene. Emma rolled her ankle on a jump and should recover quickly. They are training partners and class acts.

I agree with you. Your down voters are stuck in the stone age.
Contenders for top 3… Wayment, Gear, Ostrander, Hyde (if continues improvement?), Jennings, Frerichs
The team is Wayment, Halladay-Lowry and Jennings with an outside shot from Frerichs (who is also semiwashed) and Ostrander (who was washed but may be unwashed in time). Gear is a non-factor.

The Unwashing of Allie O is the most compelling storyline of the 2024 season
