Unless it was the OG Cliftons. Those things were super springy out of the box. They were my go to tempo and longer racing shoes 10 years ago.

Darn, I wish we could go back to the 70s when I ran in a pair of Onitsuka Tigers (thin, glued on sole, no midsole cushioning), noon start and no aid stations. Now, that was real fun!
gosh. my only marathon was in a pair of nike Free runs. is this why i hated it so much? pretty much all of my training done in them as well.
