Bol can run 48 high for the 400M but Marileidy Paulino will be tough to beat. In the 400Mh nobody knows what kind of shape Syd is in, so this is Bol's event and she may be able to dip under 51, so I would stick with the hurdles.
A Dutch reporter asker her a similar question after Eugene 2022, basically asking ''what if you're eternal 2nd?''
Bol said she'd still run because she loves the hurdles and loves improving herself. If there's someone out there she cannot beat then so be it but she will try.
Sydney has just one time significantly faster than Bol. We know Bol is likely to be at the Olympics in low to mid 51 shape, with Sydney we have no clue where she's at.
I think at career end Bol will have the superior record but perhaps not get the WR. More major titles, and more overalll high quality performances.
But will be fascinating to watch when they are heads up.
The point is, my friend, her speed has massively improved this winter, down to 22.6 indoors - world ranked 10th on the indoor lists this year - and now opening outdoors with a huge PB over 100m. And whilst 11.47 wont be scaring any 100m sprinters, for Bol, a 400m runner at 6'1 tall, in April, this is a great result. And it would have been in the mid to low 11.3's with a favourable wind, very respectable.
Her coach Laurent Meuwly identified her curves as her weakness against Sydney. Whilst they run the straights at a similar speed, it's the curve where the American is faster, particularly the opening 100m. So they are attempting to ensure she is not so far behind when/if they next meet. They/we know she has excellent endurance, her World Best at 500m indoors showed that, so it's the speed she needs to improve to get to the next level (on top of her stride pattern and technique, obviousy).
Bol is doing all she can to be ready for Paris. Like any athlete.

I was not responding to you. And Bol may be slower in the curves and have a similar speed in the straights but this is with hurdles, because of her poor(compared to Sydney) hurdling technique. I'm sure that without hurdles she is faster than Sydney, is the hurdling that she has to improve

You’re sure Bol is faster than Sydney without hurdles? I don’t know about that.

I think that if they raced today, Bol would be faster than Sydney in the flat 400. But by the time the Olympics get here in July, I think Sydney and Bol would be pretty similar in the flat 400.
In any case, Bol not only needs to improve her hurdling technique, but Sydney can also do 14 steps between hurdles for several hurdles more than Bol. Sydney has a several tenths of a second advantage over Bol with the steps and hurdles. Bol would still be the underdog at the Olympics in the 400H.
