I have slightly wide feet and have always appreciated NB's wider toe boxes. If there is anything I would change it would be their naming scheme for shoes. I find it much easier to remember shoe names if they have names made of words like "Pegasus" or "Vaporfly" rather than numbers like "680" and "1080."
the demographic that buys nb shoes have no idea who that is and do not care. social media is not going to help.
The dude won multiple hobby jogger Olympics (Boston and NYC) and for good measure medalled in the real Olympics. Of course the demographic know who he is!
Does any current elite American distance runner have a deal with New Balance?
No I don't believe so but this question highlights the shift of sponsorship.
Skechers made their entry into competitive running by signing a world class runner. Their M strike worked well to cite the need for good running mechanics, avoiding injury. S then went to solidify their entry by sponsoring competitive runners and clubs on the west coast while building a go-to model in the GoRun Ride.

The shift with S then went to their neighbor, Hollywood using the run division to support, sponsoring Snoop, Kardashian, and Martha Stewart to name a few.
Currently the only running athlete with S is Ed Cheserek.

I found this old thread which highlights the many top-tier male runners that NB sponsored, especially in the 80s.
I know the athletes in their current stable (Jenny Simpson, Brenda Martinez, Emma Coburn, etc.), but I was wondering about historical greats who were sponsored by New Balance. Dick Beardsley and Pete Pfitzinger are the only g...
