Exactly. Too many don't understand that the purpose for declaring a state of emergency or an area or county a federal disaster area is to formally request funding to deal with the situation. This must include clueless Sally.
This. But I will argue somewhat that it isn't totally out of left field to wonder if this will have an inflationary impact. Especially with autos as the Port of Baltimore is one of the busiest RO/RO terminals in the USA, I believe. Not giving undue credence to whatever channels you guys are getting this from, but just as a general concern.
For Sally, I don't think you need to worry about DEI in this situation as Harbor Pilots are often chosen for their familiarity with the channels. In some situations, they are groomed for the role (in a positive way) from a young age. It is a coveted role that is not just doled out to anyone.
I was hoping we might get some insight from Michael Wardian. I think he is a shipping broker whose day is probably turned upside down by this tragedy.

Whether this or any other major issue at a port could cause a ripple in the economy, supply chain, etc., is a fair question.
Asked within hours of the accident, while they are hunting for bodies, and coming from election denier Maria Bartiromo... that's not someone asking a fair, journalistic question. That's jumping on a tragedy to help Trump.
To bridge experts, the collapse of Baltimore’s Francis Scott Key Bridge after being hit by a heavy cargo ship early Tuesday was as unsurprising as it was devastating.
Was she qualified to be the captain? Was she an affirmative action beneficiary? Seems very important to know.
Why do you assume that a woman wouldn’t be qualified?
Because If there are policies in place that enable preferred treatment it sows doubt. I think thats quite obvious. Thats a reason many women who are competent oppose preferred treatment

the obvious question here is, why did they design bridges that could be so easily knocked down by a boat?
They are 100% safe unless a boat crashes into it, but consider the boat-crash factor and maybe a better bridge is needed. Apparently it is not the first boat-destroyed bridge.
