So where’d you live? How long did you live there full-time? Where were you moving from?
Ive lived in CO for 15 years, most of that in Breckenridge and now Aspen. Sure, there’s directionless young people, but at least where I live there are a lot of great, intentional people beyond the at standard 20-25y/o’s doing the “ski bum” [not really a thing anymore] thing. You’re first post is pretty weird and skewed; I’m not really sure what you thought you’d find in your town when you chose to move there???
The truculent and nefarious characters continue to show up thinking they own the place. No class. No etiquette. Stomped on drugs up their nose. Cant even ride my bike down the street after sunset without getting an itch to take action. Cops fresh off the community college fast track and chartered through the academy sit back and don't care.
Fish gotta swim.
You do what you gotta do Paul. We cops will look the other way, least for a while, unless you draw too much attention.

Thanks for informing us. Was wondering where all the people in San Francisco disappeared to.

I wish I lived my life like this. Purposely seeking out things to get angry about.
It's easy to quarterback from your keyboard. But when you live through it day to day, it changes your perception. These landscapes are beautiful. The people destroy it.
I agree. Came here in 1997 when this place still had a sense of community. Now this place is flooding with granola girls and wannabe hipsters who think they are tough. Ruins the vibe.

Aspen, Breckenridge and Vail are all essentially the same type of bubble worlds. I will not be telling you where I live(d) so you dont get any wild ideas.

Uh, why pal? What WiLdDDd ideas am i supposed to get from you living in _____??? WTF?
Assuming you're the OP, you sound like someone entitled and relatively narrow-minded who assumed that because you wanted to live in ______ and see ______'s scenery, that _______ should work and end up fitting to your desires. Other people have different ideas, different lifestyles, different goals. CO and CO mountain towns in general are gathering places for optimistic, grass-is-greener types from East of the Rockies looking for a "better" life (including, I'm sure: you). It sounds like where you lived is probably better off having you roll back to where you came.
But VERY cool story about that ONE TIME you lived in Colorado. See how the down-the-nose angle feels, brah?
