why do people move to Colorado to live like that? Why not California, Arizona, Nuevo Mexico?
I'm not sure but Californians are the one's invading CO. Arizona is the Florida of the Southwest, the skiing is limited and Scottsdale is filled with LA people pretending they're not from Cali. New Mexico is exactly like Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul except in Taos and Santa Fe but those two places are filled with trust finders too.

I moved away from another mountain town literally because too many long haired yahoos cut through my yard everyday (from the alleyway) to get to the main street. I paid good money to be there ($5000/mo) yet in doing so felt like a tourist attraction myself in a fish bowl.
My pessimistic take on people coming to these mountain towns is that too many of them are coming here directionless, running away from other things and throwing their lives away. Or, as my first post suggests, here to cause problems en route to self destruction.

It's easy to quarterback from your keyboard. But when you live through it day to day, it changes your perception. These landscapes are beautiful. The people destroy it.
