The same thing that happen to the 90% of athletes that get hype on HS and don’t perform in college. For example, this year true freshman 800m runners recruits will say 5 of them have performed better or have been consistent than when they were in HS. In my opinion, you should open the season with the same time or probably a second off your PR for events like 800m/1600m
