Did they overtrain or was it something different? Two very talented guys, who soared to amazing heights but fell even more drastically from said heights. 3:30 and 3:46; 26:59 and 12:55 and then the next season... nothing. How can it all go so wrong so quickly. They both trained very hard Solinsky on the higher mileage side with 120mpw and running a big chunk of those miles hard but Webb just blowing up some insane workouts like the 20 x 400 with a 50.x and 8 x 800 with a 1:49 last rep. So where does it really go wrong? Was it the ambition to be good and knowing that they could? They both look back on it in such an interesting way. Both seem to wish they hadn't but they probably wouldn't have run the same times. What really went wrong, they did what it took. Webb claimed that his training bar was set too high and that it was gonna be hard to beat that, but I truly believe that just wasn't the case. Salazar saw something that we all didn't get a chance to even saying that he would run much faster than he ever has. That was like 2009 by that point so Webb hadn't done well in a while. Solinsky on the other hand was that just a crash and burn. Obviously he had the hamstring thing with the dog but still like he just never was the same after 2010/11. Did they soar too close to the sun?
