How fast will he run. Could a 17 year old run 7:42 in Australia. He ran 7:52 almost 12 months ago.

Honestly he may be good for even faster than 7:42, he closed his 3:33 so well he may be in something like 1:46/3:31/7:38 shape

I would say 7:42 +/- 2 seconds is definitely on the cards if he gets into a fast paced race.

I agree. Hard to imagine a 17+ yr old running 7:42, but he's phenomenal.

You do realize that 14 NCAA guys ran 7:42 or faster.
The NCAA 1500m record is slower than what Myers ran last year.
He is in 7:36 shape at a minimum
3:33 for an adult is equivalent to about 7:36. I'm not sure I'd call that a "minimum" fitness for him. I think any result under 7:45 would be fantastic, and anything under 7:40 would make him a legitimate threat to make the Olympic final, when you consider he's young and not really a 3k/5k guy. Remember Jakob didn't start having top results at 3k+ until he was closer to 20, but he was a 3:30-3:31 guy well before that.

Yep I think your right but racing in Austalia in March probably not. Having pacesetters to go at 7:38 pace for 2k is hard to find.
No scholarship limits anymore! (NCAA Track and Field inequality is going to get way worse, right?)
