GO GATE! THIS IS GATE'S YEAR BABY!
My Preseason Predictions for Distance Running
I believe that Navy, Boston, and Army are too good to even write about so we should focus on the mid teams instead. P.S. Jacques Guillaume washed and Freddy "no chin" Collins is mid.
I'm going to write about each relevant runner from the mid tier Patriot teams. Mid tier does not include Holy Cross or Colgate. They so bad.
Bucnkell - Donner's fat ass aint taking this team anywhere.
Henry Didden - probably coming in last in steeple
Trent Dinant - Kinda washed. expecting a 4:30 mile.
Ben "fire crotch" Santos - Top 5 in steeple at leagues
Lehigh - I think they will have a solid league meet if Etters plays his cards right
Malatesta - aggresively washed. doubt he runs an open event
Tom Arnold - 4:09 incoming in the mile
Harvery - Not even making it on the leagues roster
Coceano - idk much about this mofo
Leffler - expecting him to improve on his 27:53 finish at XC patriots. I predict 14:10 in the 5k
Lafayette - they are so bad. only hope is CJ Rommin
CJ Ramen - Prob runs a 2:02 seven times and then drops a 2:10 at leagues
Quinn - Relay merchant. cant do anything in an open event.
Alfred - he's actually good. i think he could do some damage in the mile
I will NOT stand here and watch you bad mouth the GATE like that. Colgate on top, just you watch. GATE is winning that outdoor 4x8. GO GATE!
Holy Cross and Colgate both beat Lafayette indoors. Lafayette was last by a lot.
If Colgate and Holy Cross are in the "bad" tier, then Lafayette is in the "worst teams in the NCAA" tier.
It's the year of the GATE baby!! Rumour has it the Raiders are gearing up to finally reveal the group of homegrown, corn-fed, NCAA-leading 800m, 1500m, and 5000m runners they've been cooking up in the Hamilton lab. The least handsome of them will easily beat out the best of the ugly, string bean, crater-skinned, goblin-skulled Boston freaks and the fairest are far more handsome than the Army/Navy government pawns with autism. The indoor DMR was just the teaser.
But thats just what I heard. Skeptics beware...
Is the Patriot League good now?
Murphy Smith - 28:37
Freddy Collins - 13:45
Foster Malleck - 13:48
Navy and BU making the league respectable again 🫡
Are these times even sub 29/14 pre-super shoes?
30:37, 14:45, and 14:48 pre-super shoes. YAWN.
All three of these are top 35 in the NCAA and will all make NCAA regionals. Nothing to yawn about.
any predictions because its championship week?
The only predictions you need are already in the thread. GO COLGATE BABY.
You guys on this thread have given me GATE Fever! What's the prescription for GATE Fever? Do I need a round of cipro?
1 - Navy - Will dominate by nearly 100 points, Jaime Cook will still get into fights with officials
2 - Army - 2nd by default because Boston has no sprinters. Eventually they will need to win some track meets or Smith will be fired.
3 - Boston - Gabe Sanders can no longer suffocate BU athletes but Army and Navy still can.
4 - Bucknell - One of the more balanced teams in the league but not enough seeded in the top 3
5 - Holy Cross - improving rapidly mainly due to hurdlers and sprinters. I heard their coach is having them drink holy water.
6 - Lehigh - continuing their trend of distance runners peaking as sophomores - Harvey and Lynch already in decline, Heidemann in his prime. They should get 2nd and 3rd in jav.
7 - Colgate - Davis and Ebmeyer already looking burned out, Blair is getting back into form in LJ and TJ, they should do well in relays.
8 - American - their only hope is Kluth. Will he quadruple (4x8, 800 prelims and finals, and 4x4) to help them beat Lafayette? Or will they keep him fresh to try hitting a regionals time in the 800 finals?
9 - Loyola - They don't have a team but they are better off than Lafayette who will get absolutely humiliated.
10 - Lafayette - Curcio burned XC to the ground to get last place in track. They will cut track and/or fire Curcio in the next 3 years.
Savage but epic comment. Hilarious.
1 - Navy - They are too strong
2 - Army - barely 2nd but nowhere close to Navy
3 - Bucknell - will overperform because they host and all alumni will come back to support them
4 - Boston - Carpenter can't coach the 800m
5 - Holy Cross - Mazzocca should high jump again
6 - Lehigh - they broke Smigo
7 - Colgate - a little less pathetic than other teams
8 - American - what happened to the good sprinters they brought in?
9 - Lafayette - They hired a high school coach for distance and it shows
Gabe did nothing wrong! I love Gabe!
Am I the only one in this website who's actually run at Patriot League Conferences before? Like half of the comments I've seen on this thread are so obviously written by non-athletes that it's almost humorous. When I was in college (3 year starter for our varsity track/XC team) I would get a full-on sprint going and clock the sh*t outta whoever was leading around the first turn. My coaches called me "speedhawk" as a nickname caus I had such a nose for racing and for those three seasons I was considered the most feared miler in our conference. Senior year I led my team to the Patriot League conference championship only to get f*cked over by the refs in the 800 but that's another conversation (DM me if you're interested in hearing about it)
So, yeah. I hope yall can understand why I feel like their's such a big disconnect between myself and your typical Letsrun commenter. Please tell me I'm not the only one who feels this way lol
I hope this was written by AI because it's too incoherent to be any human above a 30 IQ
It's just the Patriot League. The word "conference" should never be said. It is not a conference, it is a league. If you actually competed in the Patriot League, you would know that.
Bro, I bet you ran at Lafayette
