I think Tobogo can cleanly run 42.5 right now. And cleanly 42.0 in a few years. He just floated across the line in the 300m in South Africa albeit at altitude. He looked like he could continue running another 100m in 12 seconds at least and run 42.7 already!!

100m is an awfully long way if you come through 300m sub 31. Very exciting, but I won't hold my breath for 42.x.
No it's not necessarily. It more indicative of very low 43 potential, or faster.
9.6 is more indicative of low 19 shape.
Strongly disagree. The 300 is far more indicative of 200 shape than 400 for the vast majority of sprinters. That last 100 makes an ENORMOUS difference.
Fred Kerley was the same as well I guess. But the thing is, at the top level, you cannot hold both 100m and 400m WRs (not olympic gold) at the same time assuming you trained all-out for both events. Once you give your energy to one event, you cannot peak your energy for another one.

It's possible to win the 100m and 400m at the same time, heck it's possible to do the same for 100m and 1500m, BUT you cannot hold both WRs concurrently or even years apart with different body in space and time!!!
