Noah Lyles has been put ON NOTICE!!!
Exactly. Noah Lyles has been put ON NOTICE!!!
All times from this country are suspect with lax out of competition testing of the area.
Let us review schedule, 2024 Olympic:
August 5th, morning, 400m heat, evening, 200m heat;
August 6th, morning 200m heat, evening 400m semi-final;
August 7th, evening 200m semi-final, evening 400m final.
The current schedule could turn someone with gold medal 200m potential and gold medal 400m potential into a 4th place finisher in both. The above schedule is why sub-20 200m men with sub-44 400m pb rarely try both. If they do, they tend to be below their norm in at least one event.
thats 19.18-19.28 200m shape
Looks like we will see a new WR at 400m this summer.

if i were him i would keep going for another 100 and break 42. Why did he stop ?
Good point.
But why not running this ten times in a row? The 3000m WR would stand at 5:07.

I wish this was in the title
Look, I'm talking about a guy that can potentially go sub 42 in the 400m at 23 or 24 years old despite having a 9.8x 100m PB. Also it is generally true that you can't be a 100m gold medallist while also be a 1500m one, and to some extent this applies within even sprinting between 100m and 400m.

Sub-43, sure I can see it
Sub-42 would require something monumental

No it's not necessarily. It more indicative of very low 43 potential, or faster.
9.6 is more indicative of low 19 shape.
He is easily in 42.5 shape right now. A few more years of training and he can be 41.9
Agree although I would think it's more like 42.5 shape right now. The 400m is the most stagnated event in the world right now...same goes for 800m. These 2 events are in need of some rural born athletes who live in the mountains.

Respectfully, nobody is capable of 42.5. Whenever the 400m is next broken, it will be by less than a tenth of a second.

Bunk.
We see amazing early-season times every year in high-elevation RSA at Praetoria, Potch, etc.
Can’t say much about him that we don’t already know, based off this performance. Already for two years now I have said on here that he would do this, and here we are, it was just a matter of time and health.
I would LOVE to see him (or many others) destroy CC, and also Lyles. This may be the year, and there will be the biggest of stages this summer.
GO TEBOGO!💪
Tebogo is the one to watch. Everyone is talking about Lyles and Knighton, but Tebogo will beat them all at the Olympics if he is healthy.
