You are correct, they must run 4:20 or less at Sections to qualify. In Class AAA some of these Sections will be extremely competitive. Section 2AAA has 5 runners in that sub 4:20 group (Sutter, Vos, Hootie, Fries, and Stuwe), Section 5AAA has 3 (Mechura, Sanvik, and Hammerbeck), and Section 6AAA has 4 (Kissel, Scott, Just, and Haerter). The other five Sections combined only have 1 (Schultz).
There are still good distance runners in those other Sections they just aren't as deep as the 3 listed.
Okay, but no mention of Charlie Larson in 4:21? Anderson also edges out Larson, both doubling back in 1:58.xx
Great double for Larson...happy he is dropping fast times after a rough end to his XC season. It will be tough to beat Ahrens at state in the 16, but he has the best shot to do it

Cade – 4:18 (10th in 3A) Fanuel Wolday – 4:24 (8th in 2A) Sal - 9:26 (2nd in 2A) Josh Leibfried – 9:42 (11th in 2A) Isaiah Anderson and Wyatt Wercinski – 1:58 (5th/6th in 2A)
Where are all the Top MN runners competing at College next year? Mechura recently committed to UNC, and both Scott and Sutter are going to the Gophers. I believe Eli Hall and Cade Sanvik are going to SDSU and Hootie is running at Bethel. What about the others? Kissel, Herring, Vos, Just, Santiago, Anderson, Layton? Most of these Seniors have probably committed at this point. Not sure if Weber or any of the other Juniors outside of Mechura have committed yet?

Schmitz to the Gophers as well. Will be interesting to see if she runs the 800 at state
