Jenny is an attention hound. In this case, she would have been gracious, although perhaps foolish, to tuen down the attention. That said, she was never going to be a factor and she knew it. Orlando played up the hometown aspect, which is a stretch at best.
When Jenny races at Drake she is from Iowa. When it suits, she is from Florida. She will never actually finish a competitive marathon.
Yep, never had any chance to be in contention, but she cannot stand to see other women getting recognition that she believes she deserves. The way she used to disrespect her compatriots and competitors was always off-putting, so I was a bit pleased to see her fold here.

What on Earth are you talking about?
You don’t remember how around 2019, Jenny would accuse any athlete that beat her, US or not, of being on drugs?
From Craig Engels:
”Jenny’s just brutal. The more people she says is dirty, it’s like, are you saying that they’re not capable of running what you are because you’re clean? When she gets in front of the camera, she gets on her high horse and all that stuff.”
She was a drama queen then who had a morality complex that did allow her to accept that her competitors were simply out-training and out-racing her. The same thing is happening here. I am sure she is throwing another temper tantrum and screaming that everyone who qualified today should be under suspicion of doping.
It was disappointing to see her drop out like that . On Carrie Tollefson’s podcast Jenny sounded like she was taking the marathon trials seriously so it’s bad that she didn’t even make 18 miles.

Having reviewed your posting history it’s obvious that we won’t have an unbiased discussion about Jenny. On the pre-Trials thread your “I thought she was universally hated” had 7 upvotes and like 180 downvotes.
I was asking how on earth her trials experience was an example of “she cannot stand to see other women getting recognition that she believes she deserves.”
But since you brought up the past, yes, she like many other pros didn’t like the NOP and considering their coach was banned for doping violations I don’t blame her. Thats not accusing any athlete ahead of her, that’s accusing a dirty USA training group that was subsequently disbanded leaving Craig to find a new home and complain about others like Nuguse.
Dropped after second lap and walked across the finish. So weird
Going to amend this to say I think they were telling people that were dropping on a loop to walk through the finish as she wasn't the only one. Such a strange thing to do when the loop was separate from the finish chute.
I was a big fan of Jenny until she basically accused everyone who had seen Dr. Brown as being a cheat. But then it came out that Jenny had worked with him as well. The level of hypocrisy on her part was astounding. Here was the thread about it:
Obviously the Alberto Salazar doping ban the subsequent reactions from the many athletes in Doha has been one of the bigger stories. One of the athletes most outspoken against the NOP has been American Jenny Simpson. She eve...

I had to revisit the thread because what Craig said did not seem like an accurate portrayal of Jenny. It's all documented here in the thread below. I don't see anything wrong with what Jenny said. It's entirely fair for her to have been suspicious of NOP.
