She lives where I do...I've seen her many times out on the roads or trail running. It's nuts that she's going to be an Olympian. But then again, Joe Klecker grew up here as did Joseph Fahnbulleh. not bad for a city of about 19,000.
Well she got divorced from Lindwurm in late 2022 and actually legally changed her name back to Bullen so it is interesting that she is going by Lindwurm still. But it is not my business.
wouldn’t exactly classify Hopkins/Minnetonka as a town of 19,000… it’s a big wealthy Minneapolis suburb, Hopkins is basically the New York Yankees of Minnesota track and field/XC. Lindwurm grew up North of the cities but presumably lives there for better trails/etc.
but I have long felt as a huge fan of MN distance running that we have a disproportionate number of great runners for the population. Carrie Tollefson, Kara Goucher, Courtney Dauwalter (another Hopkins alum), Gabe G, Klecker, Leer, Blankenship, Lindwurm. I know there are more I’m missing. Add in Wisconsin (Monson, Seidel, Favor Hamilton, Solinsky, etc) and the upper Midwest does pretty well. I like to thing grinding it out in the cold and ice makes us tough.
People don’t want to hear this but she is not a great runner. When you still have 2 miles to go when the world’s best woman runner finishes then you are a mediocre elite runner. But give her credit for making the most of her opportunities.
I think you are missing the point of the Trials…to finish top 3, that’s the only goal, doesn’t matter how you do it. She did this today beating out many other runners that were considered favorites far more than her. That makes her a great runner.

You don't know what you're talking about. Hopkins is pretty much a tiny little village on the outskirts of Minneapolis. They are just blessed to have had a great running heritage. They are also pretty decent at basketball.
her highest finish at footlocker nationals was 10th. Dakotah beat her today.
Dakotah (5:40/12:32) started her track career running 6:26 in the mile. She ran 23:00 5Ks. She finished 335th at the Roy Griak Invite in 2011, a race that saw Karissa Schweitzer finish 6th.
For her senior year, she finished 187th, cutting her time by a minute, and closing the gap on her fellow Olympian, Karissa considerably as Karissa finished 11th.
She was the second runner on her team as a senior, and her highest placing was 8th.
This is absolutely insane if it’s true.
This may be the story of the trials.
My only question is why is it okay and incredible when your people do it but when it’s an African gal, people will always scream about doping?😂
Running is not only about talent! The hard work and commitment you put in will work for you! Good for her! See you in Paris😇

She isn't a Olympian until she competes in the OG. Until then, she is a US Olympic team member.
For some context, she went to Northern State University in Aberdeen, SD. It has the worst indoor track I’ve ever run on. 160 meters around a basketball court. Terrible surface and incredibly tight turns. The outside lane (lane 6) is still much tighter than lane 1 on a tight 200 track. And keep in mind, this is one of the coldest states in the country, so an indoor track is all you have for half the year. It’s really amazing that it produced an Olympian!

Mikee has missed a lot of points in life.
Right she finished 3rd. It is tremendous. It is also stunning that the field is so bad. Like historically bad relative to the world’s best. But I know this gets downvotes. Truth is not welcome.

Women aren't running 2:14 naturally so unfortunately if you're a clean runner, no, you're not amongst the "world's best."
Didn't want to discuss PEDs but come on, the above statement is so ridiculous given the current state of the sport and drug testing.

By PRs, it was the best women's field in U.S. trials history. But you are right about the truth is not welcome.
