1. I wonder if Nico peaked too early - this might be his peak for the season. Still, closing in a 27.7 is very solid
2. One unmentioned thing is travel - Blanks is at a massive advantage on that. Even though it's only 2 (I think) time zones, it's still something to consider
It's a tough question with too many variables. Like, which races do they run and in what order? Are either in the distance medley? NAU might be the favorite in that depending on their 400m guy.
I'm a fan of both of those guys, but Blanks has a history of winning big races recently and Nico now has the record from a nearly perfectly pace run.
Graham needs to work on his closing speed. Graham's mile PR is 3:56.63 (set last year). I don't think Graham is going to be doing any mile speed trials or fresh miles before March (had he raced the 1k this past weekend, we could have compared his 2023 1k with 2024 1k to see potential improvements).
We'll see how Graham fares next weekend if he races the 3k as planned, and if it's better than his PR 7:44.76 from last year.
There's going to be a ton of hype for this one. Who you got?
It’s going to be AWESOME!
SO tough to decipher. NCAA record holder vs the previous NCAA record holder. 6 seconds separate their PR’s however. That’s a decided advantage to Nico.
However, with that being said, it’s going to come down to a mega-battle for the ages. Both want it, I’m sure.

No lying. Graham has a cousin named Nico blanks that works for nasa.
I think NAU goes DMED, Mile, 3000 to rack up as many points as possible with potential wins and high double scores. Im not sure how crazy they go with multiple events if he runs the 5k. Im also not sure another 5k indoors is in the cards with whats at stake in June.

Nico has not proven a single thing in terms of championship style races. He can run all the fast times that he wants, doesn’t change my view of him as a championship style racer. Graham as of recently has done better than Nico in cross country and the 5k at NCAA’s.
It’s just like Grijalva, who may get his ass kicked by Kejelcha and the other Ethiopians in DL time trials but in a championship style race, he knows how to finish ahead of them.
